If you’re looking for a challenge, then why not learn to play an instrument? My name is Michael Leat and I am a fully qualified music teacher who takes great pride in teaching my students how to play a variety of woodwind instruments.
I joined the British Army as a musician in 1975. After 9.5 years, I left the armed forces to pursue a career in music. I studied for a degree in Music at Bath Spa University, returning later to obtain my PGCE.
I have been teaching since 1978 and have experience of working with children and young people of all ages. I’ve taught for Bathnes, Swindon and Wiltshire Music Services at both primary and secondary level, and I also teach adults up to and beyond retirement age; I firmly believe that it’s never too late to start music lessons.
My experience as a performer has shaped me and how I teach my students who come to me from across the West Wiltshire and Bath areas. I am available to offer lessons in the daytime or evening. Please give me a call if you would like to arrange lessons.
I offer music tuition for a variety of woodwind instruments including the saxophone, clarinet, flute and recorder.
If you would like to arrange a lesson or need help with music theory, aural or score writing using Sibelius, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
